Sanjay Mithal, PhD
CEO
Sanjay’s experience spans three decades across multiple geographies and economic cycles – he began his career as a research scientist at Bell Laboratories and transitioned to the financial services industry, where he brought an interdisciplinary approach to building and managing global businesses in trading and fund management, based in New York, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
He has managed multi-asset portfolios with a global focus across equities, interest rates, credit, commodities, and currencies. As part of Citigroup’s Risk Management Executive Council, he built an enterprise risk management function focusing on capital and liquidity risk. He has advised clients on enterprise transformation and climate risk — and stress testing for risk assessment and revenue forecasting.
Sanjay has a PhD in Operations Research from Columbia University, an MS from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.

Thierry Bollier, PhD
CIO
Thierry is an expert financial economist, advisor, and leader in applied quantitative research. He has headed financial modeling and development of trading and risk systems at large buy and sell side financial institutions, from strategic design to tactical execution, with innovative approaches for climate risk and transition finance, derivatives trading, systematic trading, counterparty risk mitigation, tail risk and portfolio optimization, social valuation of projects
Thierry is an entrepreneur, with extensive experience guiding initiatives aimed at building transparency and risk mitigation. He was a co-creator and officer of first-of-a-kind Triple-A company, a patented risk transfer solution for dynamic capital buffer management, instrumental in achieving the highest credit rating and sustained risk mitigation. He has also developed proprietary machine-learning methods to detect regime-based correlation and mitigate the impact of extreme market events on portfolio performance.
Thierry has a PhD in Finance from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.

Reena V. Mithal, PhD
COO/CFO
Reena has worked extensively in global financial markets, focused on emerging markets credit risk analysis. Over the last decade, she has focused on investing in early-stage companies in India, in skill development, assessment and financial inclusion — working with entrepreneurs on impact metrics and sustainability objectives, and advising management teams on capital structure optimization and business development.
Reena was on the founding team at CreditSights Inc, a global credit research company, managing credit analytics and leading the company’s business in Asia. She provided strategic guidance on portfolio construction and risk monitoring to global institutional clients. She has held senior roles at Putnam Investments, Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers, assessing value in sovereign, bank, and corporate credit assets across emerging markets.
Reena is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s Business School. She has a PhD in Finance from Columbia, a MALD from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, an MA from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a BA from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.

Ranjona Banerji
Director - Communications
Ranjona Banerji has worked in the media for four decades, across various publications including Mid-Day, The Times of India, Bombay Magazine, India Today, Gentleman and CricketTalk, covering politics, health, food, art and culture with a focus on gender and social issues
Her leadership role at national newspapers involved directing features, Sunday teams, editing and op-ed pages. She spearheaded city, political and special coverage, managing stringers and contributors and commissioning columnists and contributing writers
Ranjona’s current journalistic work involves media critiques and commentary on environmental and political issues. She is the President of the Friends of the Doon Society in Dehradun, India, where she leads the effort of volunteers striving to address environmental degradation in the Himalayas. She is also active in advocacy movements with other non-profit organizations, to petition state agencies and increase environmental awareness in the region
Ranjona has a BA (English Hons) from Presidency College, Calcutta
